Gmail passwords leaked – don’t panic!

No need to panic if you heard about the Gmail passwords leaked – most are more than 3 years old. If you haven’t changed yours in that time, you’re overdue! 🙂 I also recommend using Gmail’s 2 Step Verification. It means you would get either a text message or voice call (your choice) on your phone to give you a verification code to put in along with your password – only required once per browser/email program/phone/tablet. Once done, it does not need to be repeated unless you change your password. It also means that having your password will NOT allow anyone to access your Gmail/Google account/calendar/contacts/Google+. Only the combination of your password and your phone getting the verification code will allow access. We can’t be too careful at times like this.
